First calculation clinic on rent increase. Information, tips and tricks at the workshop of the Association of Quebec Landlords (APQ)
Montreal, February 2, 2015 --- The Association of Quebec Landlords (APQ) is proud to organize the first calculation clinic on the setting of the rent. Learn about how the method that determines the rent increases by the Rental Board works.
Free and exceptionally open to all rental housing owners, this major event wants to be a partner with a strong increase in rent!
“With negligible rate increases for major work granted by the Rental Board, every dollar counts: an outdated method that requires us to claim expenses for the previous year, otherwise they are lost; getting a return on one’s investment over 30 years while a roof lasts only fifteen years, for instance; or simply prohibit the upgrading of the price of the rent to the market price when the tenant leaves,” says Martin Messier, President of the APQ.
This workshop intends to help owners with their rent increase calculations, to guide them in understanding the workings of the Régie du logement when comes the time to open a file for the setting of the rent.
Experts from the Association of Quebec Landlords (APQ) are therefore available on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Complexe Desjardins in Montreal. The owners can, with their 2014 bills, sharpen their knowledge through:
- Ongoing training every hour, on:
• The setting of the rent, deadlines, notices, delivery of notifications ...
• Managing your real estate as a business ...
- Help for calculating rent increases
- The APQ calculations form
- Meeting rental property professionals
- Meeting major suppliers and planning your work.
Finally, we must remember that in the process of rent increase it is the tenant who may refuse the increase and stay in the housing,” adds the APQ.
